Obituary translated from a Croatian newspaper:

May this year we received a very sad news, that suddenly very good known
in our community "Zora" number 351 sister Mary Kaydich died who's picture
we are presenting for the family, friends and members.
She was born in 1889. in Vrbovsko Gorski Kotar (ex. Yugoslavia). In this
country she came as a litlle girl with her mother Ana and her father
Anton, they come to Pittsburgh,Pa. Life at that time was very hard.
Family was growing very fast. Anton and Ana had pretty soon four more
kids, two daughters and two sons. Mary got two sisters and two brothers.
Parents were fighting for the life of the kids because they were the
      happiness in their life.
Suddenly that happiness did not last that long. 1903, something
unpredictable happened, when the mother was cleaning gas lamps, she
spilled the gas on herself and she burned herself very bad. After couple
of weeks in the hospital she died. Father was left with five kids. Mary
was only 14. From the rest of the kids, the oldest was seven and the
youngest was six months old. Since then Mary wasn't just the sister for
them, she was also a mother too. Father and her were taking care of the
siblings. After a while in result of his love for his wife he died.
Therefore Mary was left alone with the siblings. Mary got married in
Farrellu, Pa. to well known business man Bane Kaydich. Not even the
marriage made her happy. After a couple of years her young husband got
tuberculoses and died. Mary was widow. She never got married again. She
lived of her work. She was a hard worker and worked for allot of famous
companies. She also worked at a adoption center for the kids in Plaines,
      Illinois.
Year, 1931 she moved to Detroit and belonged to a group called Zora under
number 54. Were she worked different kind of important jobs. Because of
laid off she moved out of Detroit but later returned and stayed till she
died. In our group Zora and Zvijezda she was a very important member with
Milan Milakovic who was the leader of the club.We ware very impressed
with her hard work. She was fluent in both
languages, and none of us remembered to give her an honor for that. Her
personality was very impressive. After a while she did received an
honor. That was the time when we had a Basketball turnament, gor her work
she received an honor here in Detroit. Our president, brother John
Badovinac was also present at the time, which happen first sunday in
April. He noticed that it was spoken in croatian and english language
there fore he asked sister Kaydich for help.
She was also a member of retirement club, where she worked as a chaser.
Her body was laid in rest at J.K Orlich Funeral Home. Her cast was in
alot of flowers and the members of the retirement club under number 351
      laid bouquets of flowers.
Funeral was done at may.28.1971. The church was in Farrelu.Pa where she
lived before. Also at the church president of the retirement club, brother
Marko Kramarich had a speech for her.
After her death the only two family members that are left ware her
brother Joseph Kutchen and her sister Antonia Vrkalj who were at that
time in Pittsburg sick did not attend the funeral. Deeply sad for her
death ware also her nieces cousins and the rest of the family.
In the name of the retirement club, and in the name of me and my wife I
wi sh her rest and peace.
      S.Lipak
      Deeply thanks.
With this we want to say thanks to all our friends and members of the

club who ware there to help her and also special thanks to all friends
who laid the flowers at her grave and also thanks to the club Zora and
